Buca di Bacco in English means the Wine God’s Cellar, which is exactly what it was once upon a time. But I can vouch for a few meals on this magnificent terraced beach hotel, over the past few decades that expressed the exact same idea!

The Buca di Bacco was born under the guidance of the famous Swiss writer & fine arts genius, Gilbert Clavel at the beginning of the last century. Clavel and many artistic acquaintances sort out this spot on the main beach of Positano for romantic  candle lit get-togethers.  After WWII, the ‘Buca’, as it is known by the locals today, became the Jet Set destination of many Hollywood stars including English musicians and actors who arrived in droves to enjoy the famous Italian ‘Dolce Vita’. 

The Buca di Bacco has lost none of it’s charm and still is one of the most exciting places to stay in Positano and right on the main beach.

For cancellations received up to 30 days prior to arrival, the first night prepayment per room is non-refundable.

For cancellations received up to 15 days prior to arrival, a second night penalty per room will be charged.
