A small town of approx 3.500 residents, Positano is the well known “jewel” of the spectacular Amalfi Coast. Its inviting Mediterranean waters and gelato coloured houses attract guests from all over the world each summer. The vertical structure of the village requires good walking legs, but at the same time lends breathtaking views from almost every terrace in the town.
The Amalfi Coast offers a magical mix of Italian summer fun together with a rich and ancient culture.
A lazy boat day out cruising up and down the coast swimming in the many grottos, under a water fall or diving off a rocky ledge into the turquoise sea is just the start to a relaxing day on a local “gozzo” boat covered with inviting sun pillows and followed by a delicious lunch in one of the many simple seaside restaurants.
A half hour trip from Positano to Ravello, the cultural centre of the coast for some world class musical concerts – or a visit to one of the magnificent ancient villas and lunch in a hanging garden restaurant overlooking the entire 40km stretch of the Amalfi Coast below.
If Ceramics are your love, you cannot beat the quaint and creative village of Vietri sul Mare at the extreme end of the coast from Positano. You can shop for hours and feast on the incredible array of ceramics and pottery, all to be simply shipped home to wherever you live.
Or you may wish to do one of the enchanting treks through the lush and ancient valleys behind Amalfi, finishing with a luscious lunch amongst the famous Lemon groves of the area.
These are just some of the attractions of Positano and its magnificent surrounding coastal villages. If a private villa or apartment are what you prefer to classic hotel accommodation, then I can most likely assist you.
